If a roll of filament is new or a print is very wide or tall your filament is more likely to get stuck in the spool holder.

This caused one of my prints to fail because the filament got tangled and jammed in the holder and the printer pulled the roll into itself.

I designed this guide to go on top of the printer to guide the filament down to the extruder.

The guide uses the bolt from rod guard to mount onto the printer.

The filament holder I use can be seen below. It’s the best type of holder I have ever used, I got it on eBay but the sellers change regularly so I won’t give a link if you search for “3D filament holder” on eBay you will find one.
